In the competition for IT talent, the job opening is no longer the focal point.
Taking has repositioned its Talent division to place the person, not the job opening at the center. Learn about the strategy that combines experience, business intelligence, and AI.
The shortage of qualified professionals remains one of the biggest bottlenecks in the technology sector. The market's most common response is predictable: open more positions, compete on salary, and repeat the cycle. We chose a different path.
We repositioned our Talent function to operate based on a different logic. Instead of organizing work around open positions, we organize it around the individual—and we have transformed recruiting into a pillar of our expansion, rather than a mere support function.
From a focus on the role to a focus on the person This shift has a clear name. As Luana Hipólide, our VP of Talent, summarizes:
“We have moved from focusing on the role to focusing on the person. Professionals do not merely participate in a hiring process; they become part of a talent ecosystem connected to the future demands of the company and its clients."
In practice, this means the relationship with the professional neither begins when a position opens nor ends when it is filled. It is continuous.
The new structure integrates three areas into a single operation: employee experience, business intelligence, and artificial intelligence. AI plays a role where it makes a real difference—cross-referencing skills, identifying cultural fit, and mapping opportunities. It is not there to replace human judgment, but to enhance its precision.
Salary is no longer the deciding factor
There is a common and costly misconception about the battle for tech talent: the idea that it is won through money alone. Data from our own operations points in a different direction.
"Tech professionals seek a sense of belonging, purpose, and the opportunity to make an impact. Simply offering a salary isn't enough. You need to build connections, delight candidates, and create a consistent experience throughout their entire journey," says Luana.
That is why our strategy includes talent communities, engagement programs, and strengthening our employer brand. These elements may not appear in a formal job offer, but they are what determine whether a professional stays.
Bringing Talent and Sales to the same table
Another structural shift: we have brought the sales team closer to talent management. When the people who understand client demands and those who understand candidate profiles communicate from the very beginning, response times drop and the accuracy of placements rises.
We have also invested in training our recruitment teams to adopt a more consultative approach—developing professionals who understand the business, not just the résumé.
What sustains growth
Technology relies on people. It is a simple statement, and that is exactly why it works: nothing gets delivered without the people who build it. Taking care of the people who deliver the work is the most direct way to take care of the people who hire them.
